Mother Said...Part 2

Then Mother said...Mary call me sometime…

• Mother said now that you are married you are so busy….take time for yourself.

• Mother said I don’t see you anymore…what are you doing?

• Mother said I am coming up to you for Thanksgiving dinner…then I can see you.

• Mother said I am coming up for Christmas so I can see you.

• Mother said bring my grandchildren so I can see them….I never see them.

• Mother said whatever my grandchildren need, I will get it.

• Mother said can you find time to call me more often as I am getting older.

• Mother said I am not doing too well…these legs and hands are getting harder to move.

• Mother said your children will get older and they too will get too busy.

• Mother said you will know what I am talking about…your day will come too.

What Mother did not say was that she was going to die and leave me here alone. Mother you did not tell me that. Mother, I wish you could have told me and prepared me…maybe I would have…I would have….I would have done better. Mother, I would have called or visited more often…Mother I would have…Mother you were so beautiful and I loved you more than anything…did I tell you that?

Now I say as a mother to my children…..”Mother Said”. Enjoy your mothers while you have them….(tears). Mother, I miss you with all my heart and I wish I could hear you say……”Mother said!”
