A good example of the plight of a ministers’ wife is… a woman puts her life on hold so that her husband can become a lawyer or a doctor. Some of these women suffer in poverty to make life possible for their husbands to advance. Once these husbands become lawyers or doctors, they divorce the wife for a younger version, throw her out of the house, and refuse to give child support to the kids. Society then castrates the single mother but gives accolades to the wonderful lawyer and/or doctor.
The life of some minister’s wives can be much more degrading than the example above. Doctors and lawyers are not “called by God” but with ministers, remember the Almighty God has called them. Many wives start to believe and feel they are not fighting their husbands but “fighting God!”
The life of most ministers’ wives is not at all bad. This article depicts what some minister’s wives go through each and every day after their husbands have fallen into Satan’s trap of pride and vanity. The lives of most ministers’ wives are beautiful and filled with hope, especially when they are helping others. These are the moments they treasure and hold close to keep them focused. These women love God and spend quite a bit of time in prayer. Let us continue to pray for all minister’s wives!
