Just Too Much For Us

The wives I talk to say this happens quite often The congregants complain about you so much so you...

• Try fading into the woodwork and do as little as possible. They complain you do nothing!

• You do medium work helping everyone in the divided factions in the church. They complain that is not enough!

• You jump in as superwoman and give advice, work when they don’t, and lend your knowledge. They complain you are taking over the church!

It is sad when someone dislikes you because they think you are “too intelligent”. When did intelligence become such a negative? Why is your intelligence derided and you are told you are just mean and aggressive? Intelligence plays an intricate role in building a successful church.

It’s equally sad when you are thought of as “not too bright or dumb”. Who has the right to say you are not too bright. Congregants do not understand why your husband married you as you are not too bright! They lament you are no help to him at all.

No matter what we wives do in the church, there is someone complaining about us. They say we wives talk too much, we think we know everything, we don’t support our husbands, we are aggressive, we are too timid, we don’t dress right, we think we are better than everyone else…..and it goes on and on, never ending!

We minister’s wives are assets to our husbands’ ministries and we are what we are by the grace of God! That is that and the end of this story!
